The Respell team is joining Salesforce!
The Respell team is joining Salesforce to power the future of agents.

Over the holidays of 2022, I was working on a project to chain LLM prompts together without code. Back then, getting a computer to think, search the web, update a spreadsheet, and more was the frontier. The possibilities felt endless in the open canvas.

As I spoke about this project with friends, they asked to try it out. In January, this project became Respell!

It was clear then, as it is now, that we all had the same goal in mind for AI. Every day, we do work we don’t want to do - writing long documents, reviewing memos, updating spreadsheets, writing tedious code. For most people, these tasks are necessary but secondary to another type of work: the value-driving kind. Building relationships, ideating new features, planning for the future.

When we use AI, we hope we can spend our time on the things that matter; and oftentimes, these are the things we enjoy. Respell was built to be the easiest to use AI-first automation suite, and we always focused on enabling professionals to spend their time on what mattered.

To date, Respell has powered millions of workflows for all types and sizes of companies. We’ve measurably saved companies, and more importantly the people at these companies, serious time and frustration.

Today, we’re excited to announce that the Respell team is joining the Agentforce team at Salesforce!

When we first met the team at Agentforce, it was clear we were both trying to solve the same problem. The energy was palpable and the goals were ambitious - they’re taking a startup’s approach at reimagining the future of how businesses across the world operate.

Respell’s vision for the future is agentic, and we wanted a partner that was all-in on that vision. Over the last 2 years, we’ve seen the AI space evolve towards agents. From prompt chaining to “GPT wrappers” to AI-native applications, from simple chatbots to copilots to assistants; all the while, capabilities went exponential and benchmarks were saturated. When we first launched the Research Agent in May 2023, we made a step into that future. And when searching for partners to go the length - to deliver on the promise of agents - Salesforce stood out.

At Salesforce, the Respell team will be focused on building agents for all companies. For us, this is a chance to continue our mission at a global scale.

To all of our customers: thank you for your trust, and the many ways in which you helped us succeed. Your feedback drove our roadmap, your business allowed us to learn and improve our company, and your excitement was what gave us the energy to continue through the long days.

As part of our transition, we will be shutting down Respell as a standalone product on March 1st. We’ve partnered with Lindy to offer an exclusive deal for Respell customers to help with the transition. I’ve worked with the Lindy folks before, and I have full confidence your experience will be stellar! They’ll help you through migrating your spells over and building on them to automate more of your business than ever. We'll be reaching out to all Respell customers to provide more details about the migration.

Respell has been a fantastic journey, and now we look ahead to a magical future 🧙
